Kura Transport

Ngā Wēne Vans

The kura operates three vans that can transport a maximum of 9 ākonga.

  1. Whakatane
  2. Onepu / Otakiri
  3. Te Mahoe / Omataroa

Ngā Pahi Buses

Our kura owns and operates a bus that transports our Kawerau ākonga.  If you reside in Kawerau and would like your tamaiti picked up, please contact our office to arrange.

We also have another run that is owned by Rangitaiki College, that picks up/drops off our ākonga in Te Mapou and Edgecumbe.  This route travels via Hydro Road so unfortunately it is not available to collect ākonga living along Te Teko Road.

Hai Whakamaumahara Reminders to Parents

Reminders for parents and caregivers:

  • Caregivers are responsible for safely transporting their children to and from their school bus stop or van pick up and as such are best placed to decide the safest way to do this.
  • Stick to the speed limit: it’s 20kph when passing a stopped school bus (on either side of the road) or van.
  • Drop your tamariki off on the same side of the road as the bus stop.
  • Teach your tamariki to always get out of the car on the side closest to the curb.
  • Always take your tamariki to and from the bus-stop.
  • Teach your tamariki not to run across the road.
  • Remind your tamariki on how to keep safe boarding and disembarking the bus/van:
    • While waiting at the bus stop, keep well back from the road.
    • Wait until the bus/van has completely stopped and the door opens before getting on.
    • After getting off the bus/van, stand well back from the road and wait until the vehicle has gone and you can see clearly before moving.
